commissions

Commission artwork is one of my passions as I love to recreate memories, pictures and pets. Although I can recreate a picture, one of the options I like to offer my clients is being able to work from multiple reference photos, changing background/lighting and basically being able to create the perfect artwork for them to display.

Price rates depend on size, background complexity (full background vs simple) and multiple subjects. The price sheet below is a guideline for price ranges. With paintings, I use three different types of canvas; traditional canvas, wood boards and wood board with bark trim. Any paintings 8 x 10 and smaller, wood boards over canvas are recommended. The wood board allows for maximum detail with the smaller canvas size. All paintings (except for the bark trim wood boards) are painted gallery wrap style, so the image wraps all the way around the edges. This eliminates the need for framing as all paintings come ready to hang. Pencil and stippling commissions come unframed.

The reference photo(s) provided for me to use by the client, the client must own the copyrights of the photo(s) or have permission from the original photographer. Most photographers don't mind their photo(s) being used as reference, but I still like to have written permission from them before I used their photo(s) in creating an art piece. The better, more detailed the reference photos I am given, the more detail I can portray in the art piece.

Once an outline sketch is approved by the client, stage shots can be sent throughout the piece if the client would like to see the artwork come together. It also allows the client to see any changes that need to be made.

With any of my commissions a 20% non-refundable deposit is required before an art piece will be started. The remainder is due upon completion, approval, and before the art piece will be shipped.

Once I start on an art piece, it could take anywhere from 2-3 weeks to be completed. This allotted time frame allows for drying and applying varnishing finish. This does not include shipping time. Larger paintings and stipplings may take longer.

*Holiday Gift Note: Novemeber 1st is the cutoff date for commission pieces for delivery before Christmas. Any commissions received after this date may not arrive in time for Christmas holiday*

I post finished commission work on my social media pages as well as this website for examples. If the commission piece is a surprise or gift I will delay posting until the gift has been received.

Any questions please don't hesitate to contact me.
